Gerald Gistand, a long time resident of Houston has lived in Precinct 7 for over 35 years. He has dedicated his professional life to community service and has made a positive difference for those citizens who live and conduct business in Precinct 7.

Gerald has been a Certified Peace Officer for 25 years. He served 17 years working for Constable A. B. Chambers and is currently serving under Constable Jack F. Abercia in Precinct 1. He has served in both the Civil and Patrol functions as a Peace Officer and has accumulated invaluable knowledge and “hands on” experience.

Gerald is a proactive and excellent leader who believes in integrity, honesty and teamwork. His character challenges mediocrity and he lives a life-style of excellence which is undeniably worthy of the highest endorsements not only because he is a positive role model, but more importantly because he is a genuine and rare individual.

The foundation of a man begins with his family.

Gerald has been married to his wife Burnell for 35 years. Together, they have been involved in numerous community outreach initiatives and enjoy developing programs for the benefit of the community. They are the proud parents of two daughters; Vanessa and Alfreda Gistand, grandparents of one granddaughter; Gerra Gistand and they also serve as guardian to Jerica.
